Captain "Watch out! Ardents... They're incredibly fast, don't let them past our main defenses." - Captain, Wave 17 on Chapter 3 |
Description
The Ardent is an energy-type enemy which debuts in Chapter 3 of the Cold Construct 2021 Event. It is presumably a variant of the Ravager Energy and Pure Energy, specifically. As such, it has elevated statistics compared to these enemies, including a higher total health, defense, and a maximum damage capacity.
Lore
"Quite strange in that these are similar in design to the Pure Energy. The Constructs clearly are not at peace with the X Faction, yet they share a similar unit. Perhaps they are learning to steal technology of the X Faction like we once have."
Appearance
The Ardent bears many similarities to other energy-type enemies, with the signature body structure, a gem on its torso and pairs of horns resting on its head, however with a golden-like color scheme.
Tactics
- Short range towers such as Vulcan are not the best option due to its speed, unless placed in turns.
- Electricizer can also help against this since it has long range and deals heavy damage, but beware of its slow firerate compared to the Ardent's speed.
- A full health Tank from Recon Bases can assure instant death from leaked Ardents on the path the Tank is on. Beware as the Tank summoned may not be on the same lane as the Ardent.
Trivia
- The Ardent is the only energy-type enemy to not actually have 'energy' within its name.
- It has the same speed as the Ravager Energy.
- The word ardent means to be very enthusiastic or passionate about something. Typically when someone's ardent, they would be restless sometimes when watching something like their favorite sports team winning or so. This may refer to Ardent's fast speed and reckless animation.
