Description[]
The Charger is an enemy that spawns early on during the game in the Normal Mode. It has lower health ( 3) than the Invader, but possesses a higher speed than it, allowing it to have the ability to slip past by unprepared defenses quite easily.
Charger is replaced by the Sprinter in Hard Mode and the Ninja in Expert Mode.
Lore[]
"Chargers, Sprinters, whatever you call them, these are a special variant of spored individuals. It appears that the XCF's genetic modification of the fungi was extremely unstable, allowing for variants like this to exist - a focus on speed rather than survivability. Beware, as most of these units are extremely adept at long-distance running."
"These units, having undergone a similar scenario that an Invader may undergo, has been fitted with extra armor and a band to signify their role. Nobody knows where these items come from, but it's presumed to be at some sort of unfound base."
Appearance[]
The Charger has a light blue / white skin color, black torso, and black legs. It wears black shoulder-pads, a black arm-band on its left arm, and a black head-band to signify that they are considered a sprinter enemy, similar to all of the other sprinter-based enemies in the game. It has a sad face.
Tactics[]
- Similar to other fast moving enemies, towers that have average ranges and high damage output can be the perfect counter for the Charger. Towers such as:
- Lots of 0-0 Slingers can do well against hordes of Chargers.
- A 2-2, 2-3 or 3-2 Demolitionist can easily take down hordes of Chargers.
- A 1-X Sharpshooter can also be effective.
