"What is this" - April 1st Shop Description |
Description
Cyberblade, originally known as Techblade, is a melee tower that can be unlocked for free from Level 10. Being a melee tower, it possesses short range and mediocre stats, but great cost-efficiency. On 4-X, it gets an ability to increase its damage against higher health enemies.
It is the only tower in the game to have a single upgrade path.

Appearance
Cyberblade's appearance is a unit in a white coat and black shirt, wielding a sword. It is very similar in appearance to Trapper, which its lore acknowledges.
Lore
"The Cyberblade was a proposed classification of unit that would utilize both the excellent shielding of XCF aliens and their usage of plasma/hard-light-based weapon shenanigans. Because plasma-based propulsion did not exist at the time, swords were proposed instead. However, beyond the design for the blade itself, not much of the Cyberblade was completed beyond the pre-processing phase. In this demonstration, the Cyberblade will be used as an example of what could’ve been (primarily in its damage output), but the design itself is relatively loose and very inaccurate to the actual design used. Rather than robes and weak armor, the original concept involved a detailed power-suit with a hefty backpack to provide energy for the sword itself. Unfortunately, due to resources, this variant of the Cyberblade you will use in battle lacks these features and instead follows the design of the base-level ‘Trapper’ unit."

Tactics
- Cyberblade's good cost efficiency can be used as early-game defense and works best when placed near corners or intersections. It's 2-0 upgrade is very good for crowd control due to its multi hit ability.
- However, its low range and lack of flying detection make it impractical in some situations against fast or flying enemies. High-range towers like the Sharpshooter and Sniper have much higher range at a similar damage output, albeit at a higher cost.
- As Cyberblade uses a melee hitbox to damage enemies, range buffs do not benefit it whatsoever.
Trivia
- Prior to being renamed and revamped into Cyberblade, the Techblade was a reference to the popular Minecraft content creator Technoblade.
- Originally, the Techblade was only available during certain events.
- On June 30th, 2022, Techblade became permanently free and publicly available in-game, to commemorate the passing of Technoblade, who passed away on the same day due to cancer.
- A statue was added to the lobby, and Techblade's description was changed to honor this, but this was later removed.
- As the developers did not think it was appropriate to keep a direct reference to him, Techblade was revamped into Cyberblade during the Eternal Update, however, it remains as a rare skin Techblade, available in the skin store for
8 or for free to owners prior to the rework.
- The Techblade skin makes a Minecraft pig noise when attacking.
- The Dream skin was a reference to popular Minecraft content creator Dream.
- However, it was changed to Humanblade for an unknown reason, though it is most likely due to certain controversies regarding the content creator.
- It is also the first skin to be obtained from a code.
- However, it was changed to Humanblade for an unknown reason, though it is most likely due to certain controversies regarding the content creator.
- During Cyberblade's release, the stats that were shown in the shop (1e+__), along with its old description "What is this" was to bait the players thinking that it was a super powerful tower despite not being very convincing.
- Cyberblade is the only tower in the game to have one upgrade path, which is taken as Path 1 in-game.
- It can still be upgraded in the simple challenge Path 2 Only.
- The Techblade skin uses a re-skin of the Linked Sword from the Roblox catalog.
- In April Fools 2022 update, Cyberblade is the only tower whose icon appearance remained unchanged.
- The 4-0 upgrade name Prototype Archaic is likely a reference to a Prototype Archaic, a claymore from Genshin Impact.
- Cyberblade is one of the towers that has a defense piercing higher than 100%. But, it doesn't change things in-game.
