Description
The Engineer is a summoner-type enemy that appears in Expert Mode. Unlike most summoners, it spawns in a completely unique building, the MK11-Device that summons enemies, making the Engineer stationary until its MK11-Device is destroyed. This makes the Engineer an insanely strong backline enemy. Unlike enemies like Summoner. The MK11-Device will summon 2 to 3 Elite Soldiers every 6.5 seconds.
It is replaced by Engineer X in 'Ranked Up' Expert Mode.

"One of the minor-ranked units of the Unseen Army, responsible for the creation and maintenance of most devices used in warfare."
Appearance
The Engineer has grey skin, a suit that is both blue and black with a black shirt underneath and has blue kneepads on its legs. It also wears grey shoes. It has a radar pack on its back. It wears a dark blue welding mask with a neon blue visor and holds a black wrench. When it summons in a MK11-Device, it will stand with its wrench on its shoulder.
Tactics
- Two 4-2 Demolitionists can easily wipe the out hordes of Elite Soldiers that the MK11-Devices spawn.
- Use X-3 Bugler ability to target Engineers over other enemies.
- 4-2 Electricizers on ‘Strong’ targeting can help kill the Engineer.
Trivia
- The Engineer is an obvious reference to the Team Fortress 2's Engineer, its wrench model is also the Engineer's Wrench.
- The Engineer's welding mask is the Welding Mask accessory.
- The Engineer's building animation is bugged.
- When building the MK11-Device, it will freeze in place, and resume the animation normally after it is built.
- The Engineer makes a high-pitched hissing sound upon death.
- If the Engineer is "Building" an enemy that is not MK11-Devices or MK13-Devices, the Engineer will move after the enemy is summoned
- The Engineer used to be stronger than Engineer X cause of Ranked Up Expert enemies have been left untouched in Cold Construct 2022.
- Months after this was rebalanced so the Engineer is actually weaker than it's ranked up counterpart.
