The Engineer X is a summoner-type enemy that appears in 'Ranked Up' Expert Mode. It is the stronger version of Engineer, but instead of summoning the MK11-Device, it summons the MK13-Device.

Appearance[]
The Engineer X looks near-identical to the original Engineer. It has black skin, and wears even darker clothing. It also wears the Engineer's iconic welding mask, but the visor glows red instead of blue. Other than that, it wields a wrench with glowing red tints.
It has spikes scattered around its body, including the shoulders and upper torso. It wears an unknown device on its back, with two antennas that glow red at the tips. It also wears two glowing red kneepads.
Tactics[]
- Kill this enemy and the device as quickly as possible because the device will be a distraction for stronger enemies, such as the Cysian Master.
- High DPS towers such as multiple 4-2 Electricizers will be effective enough to take down this enemy.
- But make sure to quickly clear out its summoning so it doesn't distract the Electricizer. Alternatively, you could set the Electricizer's target setting to 'Strong', assuming there isn't stronger enemies nearby.
Trivia[]
- According to the lore, the Engineer X used to work on the Bliss of Finality ships before the rebels, or known as towers hijacked it.
- Previously, the Engineer X was weaker than it’s regular counterpart; the Engineer had
6,000 health while the Engineer X had 4,000 and 1,000 shield health.
- This was because Expert Mode had been reworked in Cold Construct 2022, while Ranked Up Expert was left untouched.
- As of 16/4/23, this is no longer a case as Engineer X has been buffed and is no longer weaker than Engineer.
