Description

Freezer is a cheap utility tower, having medium range and is able to freeze enemies, preventing them from moving for a short duration. 3-X allows Freezer to freeze multiple enemies with its splash damage while X-3 enables it to attack even while stunned and shoot ice like flamethrower, proving to be useful against Unstable Vessels. Freezer cannot deal any damage to enemies that are already frozen, and enemies with freeze immunity.

Freezer does not have any defense piercing.

Appearance

Freezer has a pale yellow skin tone, black legs, blue torso & sleeves (which include extra protection). Its head is protected by an ushanka. A soft white scarf is seen being worn around its neck as well. It wields a freeze ray, which it uses to attack enemies. It is the only tower to have a sad face by default.

Lore

"The coloquially [sic] named 'Freezer' is the third member of the RTAP (Rapid Technological Advancement Program. Designed to operate within harsher climates, this unit finds the most use for its cryo-based weapon. Based on alien technology designed to cool fusion reactors, the Freezer's weapon can cool molecules to near absolute zero in seconds, at least in ideal conditions. In most situations, the ice blasts get dispersed to heat and lose efficiency. In a sense, the Freezer is highly impractical, but it's hard to deny that it's very useful to the program. By investing more in freezing technology, it may be possible for even stronger plasma and electricity weapons to be designed, even leading to the initialization of the Lightbeamer. Despite all this, the Freezer's gun is still usable for disarming enemies non-lethally and with stealth. The cost? Spores. After the alien army imported various deadly living carcinogens around the planet that were tailor-made to turn humans to their side, the UEC immediately began experimenting on their use-cases. Firstly, spores proved several benefits to survivability, such as increased resistance to the elements, temperature and general physiological improvements. However, these improvements tend to happen right before the 'killswitch' is activated, which allies the brain with the alien army. The Freezer utilizes the spore for increased survivability, but due to there being no discovery of how to stop the killswitch, only this unit utilizes it. It's a good thing then that the killswitch is stopped in cold temperatures."

Tactics

• Freezer is one of the three towers in the game that can slow down enemies, and the only tower that can freeze enemies, making it as useful support as it allows other towers to attack enemies for longer.
  • Path 1 Freezer is used to freeze groups of enemies with splash damage, as well as ignore some freeze resistance of enemies.
    • Path 1 Freezer be used to freeze summoned enemies from enemies such as Reviver and Summoner, preventing them from overwhelming your towers.
    • As it ignores some freeze resistance of enemies, Path 1 Freezer can freeze much more enemies than Path 2 Freezer.
    • Due to Path 1 Freezer's comparatively slower firerate, it is recommended to have a Bugler to boost its firerate.
  • Path 2 Freezer can slow down enemies as well as freeze enemies with its ability.
    • It can be useful to slow down fast enemies such as Eclipser, however as it uses spraying as its attack, Path 2 Freezer can miss them.
    • Using Absolute Zero can freeze most enemies in its range, while slowing down freeze resistant enemies.
  • However, many enemies are completely immune to Freezer, making it less effective in some stages of the game.
• It is recommended to spread out Freezer placement as freeze time does not stack, meaning multiple Freezers attacking the same enemy at the same time is just as effective as one Freezer attacking said enemy.
  • Freeze time is able to overlap however, but it is difficult to be used consistently due to varying enemy speeds.

Trivia

• Freezer is the only tower in the game that has a sad face, not including tower skins.
  • This is actually related to the lore as Freezer is an individual infected by the spores, similar to Invader, which explains why Captain is unfriendly when addressing towards Freezer.
• Freezer is the second cheapest purchasable tower behind Crossbower, costing only 450 in the shop.
• Freezer uses a recolored Freeze Ray from the Roblox catalog.
