Captain "Hover tanks. With their ability to tear through first-line defenses, we need more backup." "They'll be dropping in a few waves. Be prepared." - Captain, Wave 8 on Chapter 3 |
Description
The Hover Tank is a vehicular enemy which makes its debut in the Chapter 3 of the Cold Construct 2021 Event. It possesses one ability which can induce a stun effect on your towers by shooting a beam at them.
Lore
"A heavy infantry force, the Hover Tank focuses on raw strength and adaptability. Their ability to fly through the environment allows them to be a useful and adaptable tool, but this is only used sparingly. Be wary of their turret."
Appearance
The Hover Tank resembles an ordinary tank, though with a few noticeable alterations present within its design. For instance, its color scheme consists of a color which is seemingly a mixture of yellow and brown along with other darker parts. Other parts are contrastingly neon, this is in order to indicate its futuristic appearance and Avarian origins. In addition, it has a railgun fitted onto the turret along with a neon yellow-brown underside in order to emphasize that it is hovering above the ground.
Tactics
- A few 2-4 Vulcans can heavily damage this enemy and potentially kill it.
- A few 3-0 Mechanic can deal high damage by its M3 Turrets, allow them to cripple the Hover Tank.
- Elites are not recommended due to Hover Tank's Elite resistance, it can still take a few damage to Hover Tank however.
- A 0-0 Slinger is recommended to be placed so the Hover Tank's ability will shoot the Slinger itself instead of your main towers. However, this is dependent on luck, and the Slinger will not always be stunned by the Hover Tank.
- One 3-X Electricizer can devastate this enemy due to it's long range and high damage. Be sure that it's actually targeting the Hover Tank.
- The Hover Tank usually spawns along with Crusaders, Lifeworkers, or Officers. Use 4-2 Demolitionists to clear out these weaker enemies while also damaging the Hover Tank.
- However, it is quite rough to clear Crusaders and Officers as they are immune to explosives.
- Using other types of multi-target damage (e.g. Electricity, 4-X Vulcan, Crossbower) would help damage multiple of the aformentioned enemies.
Trivia
- When using it's railgun, it makes the same sound Businessman uses when using the G-Man skin.
- While its model replaced random enemy's model in April Fools 2022 update, its railgun always faces backwards.
- The Hover Tank has the same hp as Recon Base's Tank despites being more advanced than it. (This excludes shield health)
