Information

Interstellar Defense is a map that takes place in space. It has a long and curvy path, this causes enemies to go quicker than normal, hense the difficulty.

This map is also used for Recon Base's X-5 final challenge: Overload. Which you need to complete Wave 20-30 in Expert mode with the set towers.

It takes about 60 seconds for an Invader to walk from the entrance to the exit.

Appearance

Interstellar Defense takes place in an astral zone surrounded by flashing purple magnetic fields. Multiple asteroids are floating across the map along with floating islands. Light blue crystalline materials that seem to glow in a small scale are seen extending from certain parts of the grounds area.

Enemies emerge from a portal of unknown descent in which the path near the portal and other parts of the map is made up of smaller rocks than the larger asteroids mentioned before. The path ends when the path enters into a darkened cave. Two futuristic bases are located at the sides of the maps; they are simply there for cosmetics.

Tactics

• Long range towers, such as Sniper or Electricizer is highly recommended on this map.
• There are small platforms on the beginning of the map that you can use for early-game towers such as Demolitionist, however Demolitionist can still work later on in the match.
• Overload Challenge: Place a 0-4 Mechanic at the middle island, and a 1-4 Recon Base at the start. Then try to get 3 2-4 Recon Bases. Place some 4-2 Elites if necessary. You can also place 0-4 Elites and use its ability on Carrier Tanks and Boltmaster.

Trivia

• This is one of the few maps to have the enemy movespeed buffed/nerfed outside of attribute boosts. The others being Mushroom Island and Roundabout.
