Captain "Great job taking out that Diminisher, but I fear the true battle has only begun…" "As we suspected, the constructs are mimicking our culture. They’ve even built their own robotic bugler, which as expected, buffs other constructs around it." - Captain, Wave 11 on Chapter 2 |
Description
The Mechanical Bugler is considered to be a tanky support-type enemy as it has a maximum damage capacity during certain scenarios and boosts nearby enemies' statistics whenever it is commencing usage of its abilities. It first appeared during the Chapter 2 of the Cold Construct 2022 Event as some sort of mini-boss, and does makes its secondary appearance within Chapter 4. Its statistics make it quite powerful, these include 10,000 in Chapter 2, and
20,000 health in Chapter 4,
8 defense, and a few abilities. The Mechanical Bugler, as stated before, has a few support abilities which increase the health of a majority of enemies by
40 or alternatively increase the speed of nearby enemies.
Lore
"Looks like the suspicions were correct. The Constructs really are trying to mimic our culture. These Mechanical Buglers work similarly to ours, boosting towers with it's own passion. It even has a bugle and a drum to spare!"
Appearance
The Mechanical Bugler's appearance is similar to that of a cybernetically modified 4-2 Bugler. Although numerous key differences are present, such as its emerald and black color scheme. The Mechanical Bugler is also roughly twice the size of an ordinary Bugler, most likely to signify that this enemy is a 'juggernaut'. A signature bugle can be seen within the grips of its right hand, where it is used to activate certain abilities. Spikes can be seen on both of its shoulders.
Tactics
- The Mechanical Bugler's maximum damage capacity won't do much effect as most towers and units don't deal more than 500 damage.
- It does however, heavily decrease the amount of damage the X-4 Elite's Immolator Overcharge ability and the 4-2 Electricizer does to it.
- The Mechanical Bugler also can passively recover its health. Make sure you create crossfire points with Vulcans, Elites and Sharpshooters as letting it pass may result in failure.
- Stacking the Fireteam Solemn can decimate this.
Trivia
- As mentioned in the Bugler's lore, Mechanical Bugler is a rare variant and a relic of experimentation by the UEC, most likely intended to replace the Bugler as the latter became increasingly impractical and inefficient in the battlefield.
- This contradicts the Mechanical Bugler's lore, which states that it was an attempt by the Constructs to replicate UEC's culture.
- The Mechanical Bugler is the second enemy to represent a tower (Bugler). The first is Vulcan (Enemy), where it is based off of the Vulcan.
- This is also the first enemy to represent a tower that is not in a modified game.
- The Mechanical Bugler uses lower pitched variants of the Boltmaster's spawning and death sounds.
- For a very short period of time (Roughly a couple hours), the Mechanical Bugler had a boss health bar with Lord Swordmaster as the icon.
- In the trailer for the final chapter, the Mechanical Bugler can be seen in Subzero Dam behind the Diminisher.
