Description[]

Normal Mode, previously known as Easy Mode, is the one of the three main gamemodes. It themes around the Volt Union, a fantastical cult led by the eccentric Voltmaster, the only and final boss. It has a total of 20 waves.

Serving as a beginner's first gamemode, Normal Mode is fairly easy to help new players understand the game. Unlike other gamemodes, Normal Mode does not have any flying enemies. Most late-game enemies have electricity resistance or immunity, representing the Volt Union's theme.

When the Ranked-Up modifier is applied, the final boss is Saber Champion. Normal Mode significantly gets more difficult, especially in late-game with the huge health jump with Bolt X and Volt King, as well as Saber Champion possessing much higher health than Voltmaster.

Beating Normal Mode counts towards progression to unlocking Surveyor.

Strategy[]

In Standard[]

  • Due to Normal Mode's fairly easy difficulty, beginner towers such as Gunslinger, Sharpshooter or even Slinger is sufficient.
    • Expensive late-game towers such as Lightbeamer and Electricizer is not recommended as it can be difficult to completely upgrade them.
    • Similarly, economy towers like Market and Businessman are not recommended due to the easy difficultly and low wave count.
  • In early-game, spamming a couple of 0-2 Slingers or 0-0 Gunslinger is effective.
    • Rushing for 2-3 Sharpshooter is suggested as well, being able to hold most early-game waves on its own.
    • Freezer can help stall enemies, however it does not do any damage.
  • 3-X/4-X Crossbower can help deal with crowd control for Demised spawned by Revivers and Crystals.
  • Freezer can help stall threatening enemies such as Bolt, however some enemies are immune to it, and it does not deal much damage.
  • Cheap and high-DPS towers such as 4-0 Sharpshooter, 2-4 Gunslinger and Vulcan should be sufficient late-game to defeat Bolts, Lightning Kings and Voltmaster himself.

Trivia[]

  • The icon for Normal Mode still uses Voltmaster's previous design, when he was called Lord Swordmaster.
    • This is also seen in the icon of the badge and contract for beating Voltmaster.
  • Originally, Normal Mode had 30 waves, later reduced to 20 waves to make matches faster.
    • Due to this change, a late-game enemy called Awakened Devotee was removed from the wave structure and can only be seen in Randomizer.
