Description[]
Overlord Amplifiers are a special type of support enemy that spawn under a special condition being once the Overlord is at around 40% ( 200,000) health. There are only 2 that spawn in a normal game and are only seen in Expert mode. They have
25,000 health and a passive defense of
10 to attacks. Although their sedentary state makes them impossible to kill a player, it can allow the Overlord to push very far and eventually kill the player.
The Overlord Amplifiers are replaced by the Chronos Amplifier in Ranked Up Expert mode.
Lore[]
"Most of the Overlord's strength comes from highly advanced shielding techniques rather than pure armor alone. These amplifiers are one such example, boosting the Overlord's health using a powerful forcefield. The destruction of these amplifiers allow for the Overlord to be completely defenseless."
"These devices help heal Overlord back to it's full health. Destroy them, and the Overlord is completely defenceless."
Appearance[]
The Overlord Amplifier, is a massive mechanical structure with a primarily scarlet color that projects a supportive healing beam to the Overlord. Nothing else major is distinguishable in its visual appearance.
Tactics[]
- The Overlord Amplifiers should be taken down as soon as possible to prevent the Overlord from healing too much. Use the X-3 Bugler ability on the Overlord Amplifiers to target and destroy them.
- Although splash towers can hit them, it is very unlikely to deplete its
25,000 health.
- Although splash towers can hit them, it is very unlikely to deplete its
- X-4 Elite's Immolator Overcharge ability can be used to target and deal hefty damage against the Overlord Amplifiers.
Trivia[]
- The Overlord Amplifier is the second enemy that is immobile, the first being the MK11-Device.
- There is a bug that if the Mothership heals the Overlord Amplifier, the Mothership will overheal the Amplifier, granting the Amplifier invincibility against the Elite's Immolator Overcharge ability.
- However, this only occurs in Enemy Randomizer as the Mothership spawns way earlier than the Amplifier naturally.
- When summoned, the Overlord Amplifiers originally spawned beside the Overlord and off the path, however due to a bug, they summon right behind him and on the path instead.
- This makes the Overlord Amplifier is the first enemy that doesn't follow the path, the second being the Chronos Amplifier.
