Description
Robotic Overseer is one of the major bosses which is encountered on Wave 40 in Expert Mode and is presumably the culprit behind the Cryptic Voice in Wave 49. It spawns in during the middle of the wave. It walks at an average speed and has high health of 
100,000 health along with 
25,000 shield health and 
4 defense, for a total of 125,000 HP.
Robotic Overseer has two abilities at its disposal, its first ability is firing a rocket which has infinite range, stunning all the towers in its radius. The second ability is firing a minigun, the minigun will stun any towers that are shot. It does not have as much range as the rocket launcher ability, but it makes up for that by being able to stun more towers.
It's also able to be meat-shielded by weaker enemies such as the Mothership, making this boss a bit painful to deal with when you are inexperienced/unprepared.
The Robotic Overseer is replaced by the Exiled Overseer on 'Ranked Up' Expert Mode.

"It's clear that while organic lifeforms govern the policy of the XCF, superintelligent robotic servants do. One such Al exists, governing the simply inane logistics of warfare. Known simply as the Overseer, it does all that no human or alien can - giving directions and order to the chaos that is the scale of their empire. While we can't examine the Al itself in it's true glory, we're left with one of its drone vessels - an armored machine designed to crush anyone who dare stand in its path. Theories on where the Al exists in range - it may actually have been embedded into the machine, or it could possibly exist remotely, such as on a neighboring ship or even a nearby moon-sized intelligence. Regardless, the Overseer has been a massive problem in regards to infrastructural damage, often resulting in the leakage of important intel data and the automatic translation of our intel. However, it is notable that these attacks stopped as soon as its vessel was destroyed."
"One of the last seen hier-ups of the X-Faction, it appears to have undergone various body modifications and cybernetic implants to make it suitable for war. It might just be a machine at this point. Its minigun and rocket launchers can tear down most units in a breeze. Some say that there's another level to the mystery, but this may just be the final unit."

As a worker on the classified PROJECT INVINCIBLE, I truly believed that he was the ultimate being, half machine, half flesh? Not even I know how much of the Overseer's body remains intact. But it seems our efforts were futile. The Overlord made sure to quarantine our divisions and ensure that we do not know about the other project's existence. Were we foolish to believe that this augmented piece of flesh was the best we could do? Maybe. But upon seeing the other units from higher divisions, such as the Vanguard, I was taken aback. Although the Grand Bobo insulted decades of research towards the Robotic Overseer, I was glad that he exposed us to the existence of other projects, so that we may all collaborate together instead of working in the dark. Perhaps the defeat of the Overlord wasn't that bad."
Appearance
The Robotic Overseer is a huge humanoid robot. It consists of purple color robotic parts. It has a black chestplate with a purple diamond, black coat, dark purple gloves and knee-pads, dark pink arm-bands and a space helmet. It has two quadruple rocket launchers and a minigun on its back.
Tactics
- Using high DPS towers such as Electricizer or the Recon Base will make short work of the Robotic Overseer.
- Unfortunately, not every player owns the Recon Base, making defeating the Robotic Overseer a much harder task.
- It's recommended to have a Bugler, as its buffs can help you out with the Robotic Overseer.
- Prepare beforehand, a prepared player will likely have 6 4-2 Markets and 2 2-4 Markets before encountering the Robotic Overseer, which can be done much easier if the player has defeated the preceding major boss.
- Robotic Overseer is possible to beat in a solo playthrough. You will need six 4-2 Markets and eight 3-2 Electricizers before Wave 34 along with a Bugler as mentioned above. Sell the Markets in question before Wave 40 after they have finished giving cash and use said cash to upgrade the 3-2 Electricizers to 4-2. Keep using Bugler's "Snare Drums" ability and use the "Direct Power" ability on the 4-2 Electricizers.
- If you have gotten six 4-2 Markets before Wave 30 already, you do not need to sell the Markets.
- A 2-4 Vulcan is recommended to clear the Elite Drones behind Robotic Overseer. Make sure you set the targeting to Last.
- Due to Robotic Overseer's speed, Minigun Mayhem's ability would be your best bet for it to delay the time until it will get to your base.
Trivia
- According to OsterDog, Robotic Overseer is a physical vessel for an AI, however it isn't located within the body and simply "tunes in".
- The defeat of Robotic Overseer is the death of the physical body, not the AI.
- This is similar to the Cryptic Voice in Wave 49, as it mentions that it has been defeated by the UEC before but not truly dead.
- Due to the font color of the Cryptic Voice's dialogue, Robotic Overseer is one of the main candidates for being the culprit behind the Cryptic Voice, other being Boltmaster.
- This is also mentioned in Robotic Overseer's description in Evade.
- The defeat of Robotic Overseer is the death of the physical body, not the AI.
- Robotic Overseer was formerly called Robotic Overlord, though It was changed to avoid confusion with the Overlord.

- The Robotic Overseer was at one point the "Final Boss" of Expert Mode with a reminder of adding 10 more waves at a later date during alpha, but the addition of later bosses in the Beta Update and the Blissful Revelations update changed that status.
