Special Properties

Special Properties are attributes given to certain enemies that make them take reduced damage or immune to a certain status effect. There are currently six special properties: Flying, Defense, Maximum Damage, Immunity, Resistance and Healing.

Flying

Flying enemies cannot be damaged without flying detection, though are still affected by blasts from explosive towers if the blasts are big enough. If somehow at the same level, units will phase through flying enemies. Flying enemies are denoted by a Cloud symbol.

Most towers will need a specific upgrade that allows them to hit flying enemies, while others are unable to hit them at all. The Businessman and Surveyor is an exception to this rule, as the former has flying detection by default and the latter has drones that can hit flying enemies by default.

Defense

Defense is an enemy attribute that allows them to reduce the said damage taken from towers. Damage is subtracted by enemy defense. The minimum damage towers can deal to enemies with defense more than their damage output is 1. If a tower has no defense piercing and has less damage than the enemy's defense, the damage output will be one. Defense is denoted with a Shield symbol and a number saying how much defense that enemy has.

Effective Defense is calculated by Original Defense * (1 - Defense Piercing).

Defense Piercing

Defense Piercing, not to be confused with enemy piercing, (another attribute that allows certain towers to pierce attacks through multiple enemies at once) is a tower attribute that allows them to ignore either a fraction of an enemy's defense, bypass it completely or even do extra damage. A tower can acquire defense piercing from a specific upgrade or have it passively.

Uniquely, T2 and below Businessman has a -100% defense piercing, which means the effects of defense is doubled on it.

Here are a list of towers with defense piercing.

Maximum Damage

Maximum Damage, also known as Damage Capacity, is a unique feature exclusive to some enemies. It is a limit to how much damage an enemy could take. If an enemy has a 10 Maximum Damage limit, then all forms of damage higher than 10 will be reduced to the said number. This heavily affects slow-firing, high damage towers such as the Electricizer or the X-4 Lightbeamer. Maximum Damage is denoted with an Cross symbol and a number stating its maximum damage capacity.

Collision damage from Recon Base and Gunslinger units are not affected by the damage cap and will do full collision damage.
