Description
The Vengeful is a support-type enemy that debuts in Wave 42 and runs at a fast pace. It has moderate health and can boost other enemies' speed by 2x when killed, which may cause the boosted enemies to be an absolute nightmare if the Vengeful is eliminated within a horde, especially when combined with Unstable Vessel's stuns.
Lore
"Vengeful units were once high-ranking civilians in the planets under control of the XCF. These aliens have some level of control over politics and economics. A punishment for taking in too much greed or corruption leads to the Vengeful units, a punishment of those who attempt to push away from the grasp of the Council. Although tamer than most, their rage is the biggest tool against the enemy.
"Vengeful units, upon death, will grant nearby units with a speed boost of an extra 2.00x. It's fedora and sword doesn't suggest much, but maybe the Unseen Army took inspiration from designs here?"
Appearance
The Vengeful has glowing indigo eyes with burning rage, hence their name.
It has black skin, and wears a black crown resembling that of Ignitus's crown. Black horns are also seen on its head. It wears a black jacket that fades to blue, a white undershirt and pants, and black boots. The sleeves of its jacket have bands of varying color and material. It is also fitted with a black spiky cape.
Wings that resemble the Divine Being's are also found on its back, albeit purple in color.The Vengeful has blue eyes with burning rage, hence their name.
It has dark gray skin, and wields a sword that is white with a black grip and with a blue blade, though it does not use it in game and is only for visual appearance. Worn on its head is a purple fedora with a black band. It wears a white suit with blue accents, and a black shirt and a gray necktie.
Three blue gemstones are seen at its back. The gemstones that are located behind its back are quite similar to the ones found on the Vengeful Champion and Pure Champion.Tactics
- 2-4 Electricizers are great against this due to their ability to stun hordes of it.
- High DPS towers such as the Electricizer and the Lightbeamer can beat it.
- Unexpectedly, several 4-2 Freezers can stop hordes of Vengefuls, though the speed buff still applies to non-frozen/frozen enemies. It can also stop the Unstable Vessels that appear as well, which is quite useful.
- Beware when Vengeful arrives with Unstable Vessel, as it can boost nearby enemies and the Unstable Vessels upon death.
Trivia
- The first version of the Vengeful wears the Universal Fedora on its head, a Roblox limited item.
- The Vengeful plays the same sound effect as the Summoner upon death.
- This enemy is one of the only enemies that spawns on 'Ranked Up' Expert Mode without being replaced by a stronger enemy, while the others are the Unstable Vessel, Tranquil, Hard Light, and Ravager.
- The Vengeful is one of the only enemies to speed up other enemies, the others are the Mage, Commander, Mechanical Bugler, and the Winter Arcanist.
